About the Role

The Cyber Security Manager is responsible for managing and developing the cyber security teams and other resources required to achieve the desired tactical and operational outcomes of the cyber security function – in line with the Cyber Security Strategy and Youi’s relevant frameworks and policies.

The Cyber Security Manager deploys the necessary resources to support system and/or data owners in ensuring that information systems are maintained in a secure manner and data is adequately protected.

Key Duties:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on Youi’s tactical cyber security planning and execution Maintaining an understanding of Youi’s cyber security capability maturity at an appropriate frequency
  • Contributing to the formulation of Youi’s cyber security strategy, frameworks and resulting cyber security plan (also known as Cyber Roadmap)
  • Enabling cyber security teams to deliver the defined outcomes of their respective roles
  • Appropriately managing workload and skills uplift through appropriate prioritisation, delegation and escalation
  • Developing cyber security staff to provide subject-matter expertise for the delivery of security solutions
  • Hiring, training, development, performance management and annual performance reviews of direct reports
  • Cyber security compliance obligations – monitor and report against Youi’s cyber security regulatory obligations, standards, and policy compliance.
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of Cyber Security Operations activities in line with organisational requirements
  • Cyber security incident detection, response, and recovery
  • Managed partner performance management, detection and response, and enhancement
  • Responsible for the execution and delivery of Application and Infrastructure (Systems) Security activities


About You

  • Degree in technology or a related field, or equivalent work- or education-related experience.
  • Professional security management certification is desirable, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cyber Security Manager (CISM) or other similar credentials.
  • Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in a combination of risk management, cyber security and IT jobs (at least five must be in a leadership role).
  • Should understand and articulate the impact of cybersecurity on business and be able to communicate this to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate cyber security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels, ranging from board members to technical specialists.
  • Sound knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of cyber security risk management and cybersecurity technologies.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of methodologies and trends in cyber, business, DevOps, and IT.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, such as: Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), APRA Standards, Australian Privacy Principles.
