Purpose of the role  

Lead a high-performing legal team that blends expertise with commercial insight to support strategic decision-making and responsible risk-taking. This pivotal role shapes a proactive, business-focused legal function, ensuring timely, practical advice that empowers Youi to achieve its goals with confidence and integrity.

About you  
Experience & Knowledge:  

• Law degree, 10+ years PQE, and a current Australian practising certificate. 
• Strong financial services experience (in-house preferred). 
• Proven leader of high-performing legal teams. 
• Commercial mindset — able to balance opportunity with risk. 
• Skilled communicator, negotiator, and trusted advisor across all levels. 
• Detail-oriented with sharp analytical skills. 
• Resilient, driven, and collaborative — thrives in fast-paced environments. 
• Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing others. 
• Commitment to continuous improvement and smarter ways of working. 

Ways of working  

Youi offers a hybrid model: in-office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays. 

Sippy Downs & Fortitude Valley:  
This role can be based at either our Headquarters in Sippy Downs or our Fortitude Valley office. 
Sippy Downs: Free onsite parking, nearby public transport (bus), and close to shops. Plus, enjoy exclusive HQ perks! 
Fortitude Valley: Prime location on James St & Ann St, a short walk to the train station, with excellent public transport and proximity to Brisbane’s best restaurants, bars, and shops.
