Purpose of the role 

The Claim Specialist manages a portfolio of complex property claims (SME, home, and landlord), overseeing each end to end. Using expertise, they deliver timely resolutions and optimal financial outcomes for intermediated customers. 6-month maximum term contract.

Key priorities 

• Manage a portfolio of 80–100 complex property claims (SME, home, landlord)
• Investigate and adjust claims to achieve optimal financial and operational outcomes
• Deliver timely resolutions that meet or exceed agreed timeframes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, loss adjusters, builders, and suppliers
• Recommend and manage reserves reflective of claim outcomes
• Ensure all claims comply with regulatory and internal requirements
• Proactively manage risks and drive continuous improvements
• Follow all Workplace Health & Safety policies and report hazards promptly
• Support a risk-aware culture across the team and organisation
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and regulatory compliance while living Youi’s values

About you - Experience & Knowledge:

• Degree qualification desirable but not essential
• 5+ years’ experience managing insurance claims, including complex property claims (SME, home, landlord)
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices
• Understanding of the general insurance industry and broker relationships
• Solutions-focused with sound commercial decision-making skills
• Proven customer service experience in complex environments
• Self-motivated with excellent time management, organisation, and systems skills
• Track record of achieving high customer satisfaction from brokers and clients
• Deliver timely and efficient claim resolutions
• Achieve strong financial outcomes on claim settlements

Ways of working 

Youi offers a hybrid model: in-office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays. If interstate, we offer a remote option.

Sippy Downs & Fortitude Valley:
This role can be based at either our Headquarters in Sippy Downs or our Fortitude Valley office.
