Location: SUNSHINE COAST

You’ll love this role if you enjoy working through the facts and landing a fair outcome. In Third Party Insured Settlements, our customer was deemed at-fault, and the other insurer comes to us for payment.

Instead of leaving our customer to deal with that situation, we step in and handle the whole conversation. You’ll review the accident details, apply the road rules and negotiate the settlement directly with the other insurer until both sides land on a fair number. Along the way you build strong negotiation skills and the kind of claims judgement that opens doors to specialist and leadership roles.

What you’ll be doing

  • A full-time role in-office at Sippy Downs
  • A 9-day fortnight working Monday to Friday
  • Manage a portfolio of third party settlement matters
  • Investigate accident circumstances to determine liability
  • Review statements, reports and supporting evidence
  • Apply road rules and legislation when assessing liability
  • Negotiate settlement outcomes with other insurers
  • Work to resolve matters quickly while ensuring fair outcomes
  • Keep clear documentation across your portfolio
  • Work toward settlement targets that balance speed and cost

What great looks like

  • Stay calm when negotiations get tricky and bring the conversation back to the facts
  • Think analytically about liability before taking a position
  • Balance fairness to the other party with protecting the interests of our customer and business
  • Prepare properly before negotiating and understand the file inside out
  • Stay organised so your portfolio continues progressing
  • Persist when negotiations stall and work toward resolution
  • Learn from each case and refine your judgement over time

If you can see yourself growing into this, you’ll likely love it here.

What you’ll get

  • Set start and finish times so you can plan life outside work
  • 22 days annual leave, plus volunteer leave and yearly salary reviews
  • Paid training at the start and ongoing coaching to strengthen your negotiation capability
  • Clear pathways into specialist claims roles and leadership opportunities
  • A team environment where people back each other and keep things real
  • An award-winning reward and recognition program
  • Free skin checks, flu jabs and financial wellbeing sessions
  • Discounted gym access through Fitness Passport
  • Discounted Youi insurance products
  • End-of-trip facilities and casual dress code
