This role provides strategic and operational P&C expertise and is a trusted advisor who delivers high-quality, responsive support to leaders and employees. Serving as the key link between P&C and the business, this role drives people initiatives to enhance performance, productivity, engagement, and culture. 

Ways of working  

This position can be located at our Sippy Downs headquarters on the Sunshine Coast, or at our office in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. 

We operate with a hybrid approach, requiring office presence from Tuesday to Thursday on location, while offering the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.  

Key priorities  

Building a competitive business 

  • Play an essential role in helping Youi provide Awesome Service to customers through finding and retaining the best talent. This includes activities such as:  
  • Conducting day-to-day performance management guidance to line managers (mentoring, career planning, coaching, etc.)  
  • Helping people leaders deal with organisational, people, and change-related issues.  
  • Manage employee relations cases, including conflict resolution, workplace investigations, and compliance matters. 
  • Provide coaching and guidance to Youi leaders on people management best practices. 
  • Support employee engagement initiatives to enhance workplace satisfaction and productivity. 
  • Collaborate with the People Services Team to drive process efficiency and automation in P&C transactions. 
  • Act as the primary P&C contact for resolving workforce concerns and ensuring P&C policy adherence. 
  • Collaborating with other members of the People & Capability team to implement innovative and inclusive people strategies.  
  • Assisting and supporting the Reward team in creating a future-proof compensation and benefits strategies. 

Being a company culture and employee experience champion 

  • Help build and maintain our company culture here at Youi and continuously improve the employee experience through:  
  • Providing advice and suggestions for team-level culture-related initiatives.  
  • Implementing employee wellbeing, D&I, and talent management initiatives, using the frameworks and tools developed by the L&OD team to ensure consistency in application across the business.  
  • Working with Youi leaders and employees to solve conflicts and help facilitate positive employee relations, maintain a good working environment, build morale, and decrease unwanted turnover. 

Coaching, consulting and strategic planning 

  • Have a clear understanding of how current and future challenges can affect our people and our business.  
  • Provide effective advice and coaching to key stakeholders 
  • Support Youi to become future-ready by focusing on our existing workforce and preparing them for the future through activities such as (but not limited to):  
  • Identifying training needs and referring to the L&D team for scoping and delivery, working collaboratively to ensure alignment with business goals   
  • Ensuring our workforce has the right size and shape for the future.  
  • Selecting and developing key talent to ensure that there are people ready to fill critical roles when necessary. 

About you  
Qualifications 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, or a relevant discipline. 

Experience, knowledge & skills 

  • 3+ years of generalist P&C experience

  • Service-oriented with a focus on practical outcomes. 
  • Identify opportunities to contribute and improve operational efficiency and regulatory compliance whilst upholding all Youi values
