Purpose of the role 

The Liability Claims Specialist manages a portfolio of liability claims end-to-end, assessing coverage, liability, and quantum to achieve evidence-based outcomes while delivering clear, collaborative, and positive customer experiences

Key priorities 

• Manage a portfolio of liability claims across Home, Landlord, and SME products
• Proactively drive high-quality, timely, and financially optimal claim outcomes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and intermediaries
• Communicate clearly and deliver solution-focused, customer-friendly service
• Apply sound knowledge of regulatory requirements, the General Insurance Code, and ASIC obligations
• Maintain compliant work practices meeting legislative, regulatory, and organisational standards
• Support continuous professional growth and development
• Proactively manage risks, report incidents, and drive workplace safety improvements
• Promote a risk-aware culture across the team and organisation
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance while living Youi’s values

About you - Experience & Knowledge:

• Formal qualification in insurance, business, or law desirable
• 5+ years’ experience in insurance claims, including 3+ years in liability claims
• Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations, and best practices for liability claims
• Understanding of relevant law, legal procedures, and general insurance, including broker roles
• Solutions-focused with strong commercial decision-making skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities and complex stakeholder interests
• Proven customer service experience in complex service environments
• Self-motivated with excellent time management, organisation, and systems skills
• Aligns personal values with company values and actively contributes to team activities
• Compliant and accountable, following delegated authorities and reporting obligations

Ways of working 

Youi offers a hybrid model: in-office Tuesday to Thursday, remote Mondays and Fridays. If interstate, we offer a remote option.

Sippy Downs & Fortitude Valley:
This role can be based at either our Headquarters in Sippy Downs or our Fortitude Valley office.
