You’ll love this role if you enjoy building a strong case and standing behind it. Here, our customer wasn’t at-fault and we’ve already paid their claim. Your job is to now recover those costs from the other insurer. You’ll review the accident details, apply road rules, and build the recovery case before negotiating liability with the other insurer’s claims team.

Some matters resolve quickly. Others take persistence and a few conversations before both sides agree. Over time you develop real negotiation strength and a deeper understanding of liability decisions.

What you’ll be doing

  • A full-time role in-office at Sippy Downs
  • A 9-day fortnight working Monday to Friday
  • Manage a portfolio of recovery matters from start to resolution
  • Review accident reports, statements and evidence to determine liability
  • Apply road rules and legislation to support recovery decisions
  • Issue formal recovery demands to other insurers once liability is established
  • Negotiate liability disputes directly with other insurers’ claims teams
  • Follow matters up consistently until the recovery is resolved
  • Keep clear and compliant documentation across your portfolio
  • Work toward recovery targets that directly impact the business

What great looks like

  • Files move steadily and stay organised
  • Liability positions are clear, logical and evidence based
  • Negotiations are firm, fair and professional
  • Strong working relationships are maintained with other insurers
  • Rejection is handled constructively
  • Documentation is accurate and compliant first time
  • Acceptable performance is achieved across all KPIs and standards
  • Delegated authority is applied appropriately with escalation where required
