Purpose of the role
The role will contribute value to Youi by applying actuarial principles to support key business decisions, with a particular emphasis on reinsurance.
Key priorities
- Prepare and review data for reinsurance renewals, catastrophe modelling and related requests.
- Improve automation, timeliness and accuracy across reinsurance placement and reporting processes.
- Ensure receipt of signed reinsurance contracts and prepare supporting management papers.
- Maintain counterparty grades, adhere to the Reinsurance Management Strategy and assist with collateralisation and commutations.
- Support drafting of regulatory reinsurance documentation (ReMS, Placement Strategy, ReAS, Reinsurance Declaration).
- Calculate and allocate reinsurance premiums, complete true-ups and process payments.
- Perform monthly reporting to reinsurers, process recoveries and prepare loss notifications.
- Provide actuarial support outside reinsurance (IFRS 17, stress testing, capital modelling, reporting, climate strategy, business modelling, expenses).
- Uphold risk-management practices, compliance requirements and the Actuarial Control Cycle.
- Promote safety, operational efficiency and company values in day-to-day work.
About you
Experience & Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial or related field, with progress toward actuarial qualification.
- Minimum 3 years’ actuarial experience in general insurance; reinsurance experience preferred.
- Strong analytical ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of actuarial standards, professional development requirements and IFRS 17 (beneficial).
- Understanding of reinsurance, reserving, pricing and portfolio monitoring links.
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in at least one programming language (SQL beneficial).
- High attention to detail, strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated integrity, accountability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities with an innovative mindset.
- Effective collaborator with a commitment to continuous professional development.
