About the Role 

An opportunity is now available for an experienced assurance and risk professional to join us and play a key role in our Risk Transformation Program. Working as part of the broader RTP program team alongside other Risk, and Compliance SMEs, the successful person will partner with the business to uplift our assurance management framework, improve governance, uphold best practice as well as assist the business to promote and drive a strong risk culture.

There are two streams of work involved in the program, specifically uplifting and design our Issues Management process, as well as uplifting our Combined Assurance framework and testing procedures. You will work alongside our Head of Assurance assisting with everything from strategy and design through to the implementation of policies, procedures and systems. 

This is an exceptional opportunity to work closely with our senior leadership team and use your assurance background to drive the program forward. This is a permanent position, that will spend the first 12 months focused on RTP deliverables, before becoming part of the ‘BAU’ Assurance leadership team. 

About You 

  • Significant experience in Risk or Assurance roles, preferably within a general insurance or financial services organisation 

  • Strong knowledge of combined assurance principles and strategies 

  • Significant expertise in developing, uplifting and/or embedding assurance frameworks 

  • Demonstrated familiarity with operational aspects of the insurance industry and/or financial sector preferred 

  • Adaptability, ability to work autonomously, critical thinker, problem solver and a default style to drive outcomes 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong commercial acumen, report writing and presentation skills 

  • Tertiary qualification in a related discipline preferred (i.e. legal, compliance, audit, risk or business)
